Show the details (amounts are approximate)
About $150 for late filing of an application to renew an active license; about $75 for late filing of an inactive license renewal (NAC 624.130). Residential contractors also pay a Residential Recovery Fund assessment with each renewal (about $200 for monetary limit up to about $1,000,000, about $500 over about $1,000,000 but limited, about $1,000 unlimited, per the Board FAQ). A $200 biennial administrative fee applies if a cash deposit is used in place of a bond.- Reinstatement
Show the details (amounts are approximate)
Within 6 months after automatic suspension: file the renewal application and pay the renewal fee plus the Board-fixed reinstatement fee if in good standing with no pending complaints (otherwise the Board may require a CPA-prepared financial statement or other conditions). After 6 months the Board may cancel the license and a new original license application is required (NRS 624.283).
Fees change. Check the official site for the exact amount.
Why approximate?
Boards change fees often and some charge extra processing fees. We show a recent amount so you can plan.
- Bond
- Required, but the amount is not published. Check with the board
- Insurance
- Proof of workers' compensation (industrial) insurance required to obtain, activate, maintain or renew an active license (or signed exemption affidavit if exempt). No statewide general-liability minimum found in NSCB sources. Bond amount set by the Board at licensing: $1,000 to $500,000 depending on classification, monetary limit, financial responsibility, experience; surety must be Nevada-authorized and rated A or better; bond must be continuous (surety cancels on 60 days' notice); cash bond alternative carries $200 biennial admin fee. bond_amount_usd left null because it is applicant-specific.
- Reciprocity
- Licensure by endorsement: Board may waive trade exam and experience certification for applicants actively licensed in a substantially equivalent state for the past 4 years with no discipline; Business and Law exam still required; Nevada-specific trade exam required if endorsing state has no equivalent exam.
Notes
Biennial license fee $600 (NAC 624.130; Board FAQ); inactive license $300. Application fee $300. Nevada has no statewide journeyman or master license for this trade; the contractor license is held by the business and qualified by a qualified individual. The Board mails renewal notices and the expiration date is shown in the online portal. On August 27, 2026 the Board published a small business impact survey on proposed amendments to NAC 624.130 that would raise license renewal fees by no more than $150 per year per license (the first increase in more than 25 years); the $600 biennial fee applies until a rule is adopted. Class C specialty licenses cover the specialty trades; Class B has subclasses B-1 to B-7 and Class A has subclasses A-1 to A-25.
