The Department may require a surety bond only after violations or pending investigations, capped at $10,000 per worker (s.3608). Non-resident contractors must furnish a surety or cash bond to the Division of Revenue equal to 6% of contracts exceeding $20,000.
Notes

No statewide general contractor competency license. Fees (19 Del. C. s.3605(c)): without state contract $200 (1-yr) / $300 (2-yr); with state/public contracts $300 / $500; both = $500 (1-yr, per DOL OneStop). Separate Division of Revenue business license ($75/yr for contractors, expires Dec 31; renewal coupons; no late fee published) plus contractor gross receipts license fee (0.6537% of monthly gross receipts above a $100,000 monthly exemption per the Division of Revenue contractor guide (the statute text, 30 Del. C. s.2502(c), still shows 0.6472%); returns due the 20th of the following month, or quarterly for small filers). Licensed trades (plumber, HVACR, electrician) still need DPR licenses. Renewal fee dollar amount is not published; DPR says amount is shown at the time of renewal in DELPROS (application fee is $173, which is not the renewal fee). Statute: the Division sets each fee to reflect the Board's costs and recomputes fees at the start of each two-year licensure period, which is why the renewal amount is only displayed in DELPROS at renewal (24 Del. C. s.1811 plumbing; s.1824 HVACR).
