- Renewal fee
- About $250. Fees change. Check the official site for the exact amount.
- Late fee
- A late renewal fee of about $250 is set in K.A.R. 16-8-6 (the statute caps any late fee at about $300). A renewal for a suspended certificate costs about $500 and reinstatement of a revoked certificate costs about $750 (K.A.R. 16-8-6).
- Grace period
- The certificate is not in good standing after June 30. The statute gives a 30-day grace period after June 30 to renew without a late fee; a certificate not renewed before July 31 is revoked. The regulation also lists a $250 late renewal fee, so ask the Attorney General's office whether it applies during the 30 days.
- Insurance
- Certificate of liability insurance of at least $500,000 (K.S.A. 50-6,125) and proof of workers' compensation coverage (or exemption affidavit / self-insurance). Renewal also needs a current Kansas Dept of Revenue tax clearance, and sworn felony-conviction statement.
