How CE ties to the renewal

  • A licensee who misses the hours cannot renew until the hours are completed and all fees and penalties are paid.

First renewal, exemptions and inactive licenses

  • At least 8 hours of Board-approved continuing education on the National Electrical Code for each NEC cycle, completed in the first year of each new code cycle, before renewing (A.C.A. 17-28-311; 17 CAR 210-1002).
  • Holders of an electrical inspector license are exempt.

Other details

  • The NEC cycle begins January 1 of each NEC publication year.
  • CE completion is tracked through StateReporting.com.
