Within 3 years of expiration: no reexamination, pay relicensure fee and annual renewal fee for each year not renewed; more than 3 consecutive years requires meeting experience requirements and retaking exam (MCL 339.6121(4)). If lapsed more than 60 days, time accrual toward master plumber restarts (LARA).
Fees change. Check the official site for the exact amount.

- Reciprocity
- Michigan does not hold reciprocity with any other state or country (LARA). Out-of-state licensees submit a copy of their license and that jurisdiction's licensing requirements (hours, schooling) for case-by-case review. The Skilled Trades Regulation Act also allows a temporary nonrenewable license for out-of-state licensees in good standing (MCL 339.5219) and licensure without exam for qualifying military members, veterans and dependents (MCL 339.5223).
Notes
Annual license renewed by individual employees; included because contractor staff must keep these current.
