Notes
Registration, not a license. The CIB online payment portal does not cover roofing registration; renew with the CIB roofing registration and renewal application. Rules text in effect is dated 10/1/2020. New law: HB 1628 (2025), amended by SB 1873 and HB 3800 (2026), creates a Residential Roofing Endorsement. Registrants in good standing on or before January 1, 2027 can be grandfathered by applying, paying the fee and completing 10 hours of approved CE or passing the exam; from January 1, 2028 the endorsement is required for all residential roofing work and 4 hours of CE are required for its renewal; labor-only crews must work directly for an endorsed contractor. Commercial roofing needs a qualifying party who is an officer, partner or owner employed full time.
